Mental health in Springfield

When you’re struggling with your mental health, it can feel like you’re the only one going through it. But the numbers tell a different story. These aren’t just statistics—they’re a reminder that what you’re feeling is real, and there are others out there navigating challenges that may feel a lot like your own.

Connection can prevent crisis.

Hey man, you good?

“Hey man, you good?” is an initiative of Mental Health 417 to encourage men in Greene County to check in with other men in their lives to be open and honest about how they are feeling. Men over 45 in our community are at the highest risk of dying by suicide. Connection with friends, family, colleagues and professional help, when needed, can alleviate a mental health occurrence before it becomes a crisis. It’s time to start the conversation.

Peace of mind starts with speaking your piece.

Meeting regularly with a counselor was eye-opening for me. I realized the benefit of speaking to a neutral third-party almost immediately. I was more honest and more willing to receive constructive feedback.

In their own words

  • Finding a variety of strategies that are effective in knocking my anxiety level down a few notches has made a huge difference. I still have difficult days, but they are more spread out than they used to be and don’t typically last as long.
